Spuma Weed Control
Spuma is a well-established thermal method for weed control, developed over 20 years ago through a collaboration between NCC Roads and Aquila Triventek.
What is Spuma?
The Spuma method combines water heated to 95–98°C with an insulating layer of biodegradable foam that covers the weeds, retaining heat for up to five minutes to ensure highly effective control.
The foam is made from natural plant sugars derived from corn and coconut, along with a foam booster. It is EPA-approved as an eco-friendly weed control solution and is 100% pesticide-free. It does not harm groundwater, soil, or surrounding vegetation, making it ideal for use around trees, flower beds, and other green areas. Within 24 hours, the foam naturally decomposes without leaving harmful residues, making it safe for people, animals, and the environment.
The controlled high temperature destroys the weed’s cellular structure, causing the plant and its roots to dry out immediately. The insulating foam layer fully surrounds the plant, maintaining the optimal temperature for the required duration. Additionally, the foam provides a long-lasting effect by preventing seeds in the topsoil from germinating and spreading.
Why Choose Spuma?
Spuma is a powerful solution for companies responsible for maintaining large outdoor areas. The system effectively controls weeds while also cleaning large surfaces and removing dirt from tiles, surfaces and pipes – all in an efficient and environmentally friendly way.
